Our Story
This is the home for sharing the ongoing story of our adventure in Japan, started some 18 years ago. When we started doing ministry in Japan, we had an undeniable call that this is where God wanted us to serve, and this call on our lives has not diminished but increased. The interesting aspect of our adventure comes from comparing what we thought ministry in Japan might be like and what it is for us.
Now that we have entered this new season of ministry here, it’s very revealing to look back at how God has used us and where He has chosen to place us each step of the way.
First, you might think that ministry in Japan would be to the Japanese people, and it is just that yet so much more.
Over the years of ministry here, God has seen it fitting to place us near a military base with each move to a new area. Not only has God given us a passion and calling for the Japanese people, but for those from places all over the world that He has brought to Japan. We have a calling to minister to whomever God chooses to bring through the door; the doors of the church, our home or wherever. He has given us a calling that is the heart of “Hospitality” and a ministry that welcomes people into the kingdom or to return to it, no matter who they are or where they are from.
This new season of our missionary journey, God has led us to minister in the Aomori “Blue-Green Forest” prefecture focused on the city of Misawa. For the third time, God has put us in proximity to a military base. We are establishing a “Hospitality House” for the people groups stationed in the military, the community and the surrounding area. Yes, we minister to the Japanese, but also to the American, Filipino, and Hispanic population here.

We find this section of Scripture a focal point of the ministry God has put before us:
“… in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect…”.
1 Peter 3:15b
Our Vision: Love, Grace, Relationship
Our Mission vision is based on Jesus’ work on earth to show God’s love, extend God’s grace, and restore and strengthen relationships with Him. We are God’s representatives wherever we are. We are all about making sure people know and experience God’s love in real and practical ways. We want people to know that God loves each one exactly how and where they are, and we want people to know the depth of God’s grace toward them. We want to partner with those God brings, partnering in the process of revealing God’s future plans for each person He desires us to minister to. We desire to equip them for the work of the ministry to glorify God according to Ephesians 4:
In Ephesians it says:
"And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love." <br>
Ephesians 4:11–16
Would you like to know more about our ministry here in Japan? Are you struggling to walk with God in His power and Grace? We are here to share the Love of God with you no matter where you are, where you are from and no matter your past. What God is most interested in is where you will go from where you are right now.
God has a plan and it includes you
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the LORD, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.”
Jeremiah 29:11
